Monitoring Dashboard

Grafana-based uptime and SLA dashboard for website monitoring.

Overview

A monitoring surface that turns website checks into readable uptime, latency, and service-level views.

Problem

A site can be online while degraded, and ad hoc checks do not provide enough history to reason about reliability.

My role

Monitoring model, dashboard structure, signal selection, and operational documentation.

Stack

  • Grafana
  • Prometheus
  • Docker
  • Linux

Architecture

Website monitoring flow

A probe checks target websites, Prometheus stores the resulting time series, and Grafana presents operational views.

  1. 01 Websites

    Monitored endpoints

  2. 02 Probe

    Availability checks

  3. 03 Prometheus

    Time-series metrics

  4. 04 Grafana

    Dashboards and SLA views

Key features

  • • Website availability checks
  • • Latency and uptime trends
  • • Grafana SLA-oriented views

Deployment

The monitoring components are containerised for a repeatable Linux deployment.

Security

Dashboard administration is not exposed publicly, and monitored targets contain no private credentials.

Challenges

  • • Separating meaningful incidents from transient failures
  • • Presenting reliability without overstating incomplete data

What I learned

  • • Monitoring claims need a defined measurement window
  • • Dashboards should support action, not only visualise data

Proof and evidence

private

Monitoring proof in progress

Dashboard screenshots will be added after real data is available.
